Registered Dietitian (1099 Contractor)

About Us:

Your Latina Nutrition is a progressive dietetic practice that operates from a Health at Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating lens. We are passionate about providing culturally competent care, promoting body diversity, and supporting our clients in fostering a positive relationship with food. You will be joining a supportive team of 5 dedicated dietitians who collaborate remotely across the country. Transparency, autonomy, and collaboration are at the heart of what we do.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and self-sufficient Registered Dietitian to join Your Latina Nutrition as a 1099 contractor. This role offers the flexibility to manage your own schedule while delivering client-centered care, engaging with our community, and promoting your services on social media. You must be a team player who can work independently, keep track of your own responsibilities, and communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual nutrition counseling based on HAES and Intuitive Eating principles.
Actively engage in practice membership activities and contribute to the overall growth of the community.
Promote your services by sharing scheduling links and event promotions on social media.
Communicate effectively with the team through Slack and adhere to the handbook's etiquette guidelines.
Maintain self-management of your client schedule, workload, and documentation without micromanagement.
Participate in events and discussions that contribute to team collaboration and shared learning.

Social Media & Community Engagement:

Post 2-3 times per week in Instagram Stories about the insurance verification link.
Post on the Instagram grid once a week to engage with the community and promote services.
Be active and engaged in the Mighty Networks membership, contributing to discussions and supporting clients.

What We Offer:

Pay: $35/hour to start, with an increase to $40/hour after consistently working 15 hours per week for 3 months. Pay increases to a maximum of $50/hour after one year.

Qualifications:

Must be a Registered Dietitian with a strong commitment to HAES and Intuitive Eating.
Active on social media and willing to promote your services and practice events.
Open to obtaining licensure in additional states if needed.
Strong organizational and time-management skills for a fully remote position.
Ability to work independently, while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plus, though not required.
Experience with diverse client populations, especially in areas like diabetes, cholesterol health, and intuitive eating.

Work Schedule:

Must be available for 20-25 hours a week.
Flexible schedule, but with a 5-10% cancellation/no-show rate considered.

Client Scenarios:

Scenario 1: A client comes to you requesting a weight loss plan because they are concerned about their health. How would you approach this conversation in a way that aligns with the HAES principles while addressing their health concerns?

Scenario 2: A client with diabetes feels overwhelmed by dietary changes and has been using restrictive behaviors to manage their blood sugar levels. How would you support this client to move toward a more intuitive eating approach while managing their condition?

Scenario 3: A client expresses dissatisfaction with their body and blames themselves for not being able to lose weight. They are tearful and frustrated. How would you guide this client toward self-compassion and help them refocus on well-being rather than weight?

Scenario 4: A bilingual (Spanish-speaking) client has been referred to you for nutrition counseling, but they feel disconnected from your recommendations due to language barriers. How would you ensure they feel heard and understood, even if you aren't fluent in Spanish?
