🚀 Getting Started
How do I get started?+
Fill out our quick intake form — it takes less than 2 minutes. We’ll verify your insurance benefits within 1–2 business days and reach out to schedule your first session. Get started here.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?+
In most cases, no. Registered dietitians are direct-access providers under most insurance plans. If your plan requires a referral, we’ll let you know during verification.
How are sessions conducted?+
All sessions are 100% virtual via secure video call. You can meet with your dietitian from anywhere — all you need is a phone, tablet, or computer.
How long are sessions?+
Your initial assessment is typically 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 30–45 minutes. We never rush — every session gives you the time you need.
How often should I have sessions?+
Most patients start with bi-weekly sessions and adjust from there. Your dietitian will recommend a cadence based on your goals and where you are in your journey.
What states do you serve?+
We currently see patients in 17+ states. View our full state list.
💳 Insurance & Payment
Do you accept insurance?+
Yes. We accept most major insurance carriers including Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare, Medicare, Humana, Oxford, and Oscar Health. Most of our patients pay $0 out of pocket. Check your coverage.
What if my insurance isn’t listed?+
Submit your information anyway — we’re always adding new carriers. We also offer out-of-network and self-pay options.
What if I have a high deductible plan?+
Sessions may apply to your deductible before insurance covers them in full. We’ll let you know your exact cost after verification — no surprises. Many patients still pay $0 even with high deductible plans.
How many sessions does insurance cover?+
Most plans cover 6–12+ sessions per year, and many have no session limit at all. We’ll confirm your session count during the verification process.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?+
Yes. Nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian is an eligible expense for both Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts.
Do you handle all the insurance paperwork?+
Absolutely. We verify benefits, handle claims, and bill your insurance directly. You don’t need to submit anything or deal with your insurance company.
What are your self-pay rates?+
We offer single sessions and discounted session bundles. We also provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. View self-pay options.
💜 Sessions & Care
What happens in the first session?+
Your first session is a comprehensive assessment — we learn about your health history, eating patterns, cultural food preferences, and goals. We’ll review your labs and build a personalized nutrition plan together. Zero judgment, just real talk.
Are sessions available in Spanish?+
Yes. Every dietitian on our team provides sessions in both English and Spanish. Your choice, every time.
Will I be put on a diet?+
No. We practice from an anti-diet, Health at Every Size (HAES), weight-neutral framework. We never use calorie counting, restrictive meal plans, or weight loss as a measure of success. We help you improve your labs and feel amazing in your body — without dieting.
Will I have to give up my cultural foods?+
Never. Your arroz, your beans, your plantains, your mami’s sofrito — they’re part of the plan, not the problem. We build nutrition guidance around the foods you already love.
Can I choose my dietitian?+
We match you with a dietitian based on your condition, goals, and preferences. If you’d like to switch at any point, just let us know — we want you to feel completely comfortable with your care team.
Do you coordinate with my doctor?+
Yes. With your permission, we can coordinate with your primary care provider, endocrinologist, or other specialists to ensure your nutrition plan aligns with your overall care.
🧪 Conditions
What conditions do you treat?+
We treat Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, insulin resistance, PCOS, high cholesterol, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, gestational diabetes, perimenopause & menopause, disordered eating, ADHD nutrition, and GLP-1 medication support. We also offer general nutrition counseling. View all conditions.
Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?+
Not necessarily. While insurance typically requires a qualifying diagnosis, many plans cover preventive nutrition counseling. We also offer self-pay options for general nutrition guidance with no diagnosis required.
I’m on a GLP-1 medication. Can you help?+
Yes. We provide nutrition counseling specifically for individuals on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and other GLP-1 medications — helping you maintain adequate nutrition, manage side effects, and build sustainable habits.
📚 Latina Nutrition Library
What is the Latina Nutrition Library?+
The Library is a membership platform with weekly menus, culturally relevant recipes, lab guides, on-demand health resources, monthly live Q&A calls with Dalina, and direct access to ask questions. It’s the only way to work with Dalina directly. Learn more about the Library.
How much does the Library cost?+
$27/month for monthly membership, or $297/year for the annual plan (which saves you one month free). HSA/FSA payments are also accepted.
Is the Library a replacement for 1:1 counseling?+
The Library is a self-guided resource with expert support — not a substitute for individualized medical nutrition therapy. It’s a great complement to 1:1 care or a standalone option for general health guidance.
Can I cancel my Library membership?+
Yes. Monthly memberships can be canceled anytime with no penalties. Annual memberships are paid upfront. No contracts, no fine print.
