You May Still Get Reimbursed

Even if we’re not in-network with your insurance plan, many carriers reimburse a portion of out-of-network nutrition counseling. We make it easy.

  • Pay for your session at our self-pay rate
  • We provide a superbill (a detailed receipt with medical codes)
  • Submit the superbill to your insurance for partial or full reimbursement

Many patients recover 50–80% of session costs through out-of-network benefits. Check with your carrier to find out your specific reimbursement rate.

Superbill Provided

After every session, we’ll send you a superbill you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

HSA & FSA Accepted

Nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian is an eligible expense for both Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts. Use your pre-tax dollars toward your health.

Self-Pay FAQs

How long are sessions?+
Your initial assessment is typically 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 30–45 minutes. We never rush — every session gives you the time you need.
How often should I have sessions?+
That depends on your goals and where you are in your journey. Most patients start with bi-weekly sessions and adjust from there. Your dietitian will recommend a cadence that makes sense for you.
Is there a contract or commitment?+
No contracts, ever. Session bundles are discounted but not locked in — you can pause or stop at any time. We want you here because you want to be, not because of fine print.
What’s the difference between self-pay and using insurance?+
The quality and approach are the same — every patient gets the same culturally affirming, bilingual, anti-diet care. The difference: cash-pay sessions are provided as Nutrition Coaching, while insurance visits are Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT). What insurance patients pay depends on their plan; self-pay patients pay our posted rates and receive a superbill for potential reimbursement.
Is out-of-pocket care Nutrition Coaching or Medical Nutrition Therapy?+
Out-of-pocket (cash pay) sessions are provided as Nutrition Coaching — practical, goal-focused support to help you build sustainable habits. Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), which helps manage or treat a diagnosed medical condition, is available through insurance coverage.
Should I check my insurance first?+
Absolutely — it’s free and takes 2 minutes. Many patients who think they’re not covered are surprised to find out their plan covers nutrition counseling. Check your insurance here.
